Free Thank You Notes For Colleagues Who Are Moving On

The following free thank you notes can be used for a colleague or subordinate who has been recently promoted or wooed away by a new company.

Generally, it is best to let the tone of your relationship dictate the tone of your note. However, it's a good idea to keep jokes to a minimum, even if you know the person fairly well.

What you deem humorous may offend someone else.

Free Thank You Notes For Colleagues Who Are Moving On

So keep it friendly but tasteful. You'll seldom go wrong with a cordial and sincere tone.

The news of your decision to leave surprised us all. We will miss you, but realize that exciting opportunities and challenges await you. It has been an honor to be your colleague for the past five years. We have all benefited from your wit and wisdom and wish you every success on your career path.

Thank you for your letter of May 15. I want you to know that we are very excited about your success and know that you have worked hard to earn it. At your request, I will no longer hold your position open here at Morrison Engineering Corporation. However, I would like nothing better than to have you return to Madison to work with us in completing our product. Please keep us informed of your progress.

On a personal level, I have very much enjoyed getting to know you. Your excellent mind, fine work ethic, and your integrity will serve you well throughout your life.

Congratulations on your great new job! Tim gave me the scoop at lunch. By hiring you, Kimble Corporation is making an excellent human resource investment. But I will miss you. You are a terrific friend and colleague. Work will not be the same without you answering extension 435. Hey, are there any openings at your new company? Please keep in touch.
I must admit to having mixed feelings when I first learned of your new assignment. I guess it's true that "all good things must come to an end". Although you'll be missed here, we all agree that management has made a wise choice in placing you where they can benefit most from your talents. We will long remember the hard work and happy moments we have shared. You have been a great team member. Best wishes and keep up the good work.

We heard from your uncle that you accepted the manager-trainee position at SilverStone Corporation. We were all thrilled to hear the news. You were one of the best assistant managers we have ever had, and we were sorry to see you go when the company restructured the department. I don't think we have ever had such a hard worker with your creativity and leadership skills. SilverStone is getting a first-rate manager-trainee. Best of luck to you in this new opportunity.

One of the biggest obstacles you face right now is trying to limit the emotional toll and its effects on your behavior and decision making process. More often than not couples that have every chance to reunite throw it all away with a partner allowing their feelings to dictate their behavior. The result? A permanent separation without the hope of reconciling.

You must do your best to leave your ego and pride and the door and try and look at your relationship objectively. No matter how right you may feel, both you and your wife are responsible for the direction of your relationship, that is a fact you will need to accept.

How to Get My Wife Back - Steps to Take to Win Her Back Today

Stop the blame game and the vicious circle of problems it creates. Honesty and open communication are the heart of ALL successful relationships. Be the bigger person and accept responsibility for your actions or the lack-thereof before trying to reunite with your wife.

DO NOT use guilt and other manipulation tactics to try and wife back out of sheer desperation. You must keep a level head at all times, nothing will push your wife away and validate her decision to leave the marriage than a desperate, needy and clingy husband.

Relationships are hard work and that is important to remember, nothing of true value comes easy. Almost all relationships can be saved with the right approach. It may feel that you have no chance or your wife wont even speak to you, you can turn things if you avoid making common mistakes.

Give your wife some space and time to let her gather her thought, it's important you do the same. Getting your wife back is a process that will not happen overnight but you can begin today to set on the path to reunite successfully.

Stay positive, remain strong and understand that you can get your wife back. Be the person your wife fell in love with and show her that person is still in her life.

Diamond Pricing - Are Diamonds A Good Value In Today's Market?

If your diamond was purchased in 1970, and it was a D color, and flawless, and weighed 1.00 carat, you probably paid around 00.00 for it. If you purchased that same diamond in 1980, you would have paid ,000.00 for it. The same diamond, if purchased today (2007) would be around ,000.00. These prices are based on the purchase being made in a retail jewelry store and not from the internet.

Looking at the above prices, you can see that there has been a steady increase in prices since 1970 with the exception of 1980. From 00.00 to ,000.00 is about a 650% increase. This is about the same increase as gas prices for the same period in the US.

If we look at 1970 to 1980 we see a jump of around 1800%. What happened? From 1979 to 1981 diamonds were being sold as investments. Consumers were being told that top quality diamonds were in short supply and would continue to rise in price. This was not true. However, consumers continued to purchase them at a record pace and a record price. In 1981 the bottom fell out and the market collapsed. Over the next few years there was an up and down cycle and finally the market settled back to where it would have been had there been no so called investment craze.

Diamond Pricing - Are Diamonds A Good Value In Today's Market?

Millions of dollars were lost during this crash and many were left holding diamonds that they would never recover their money from. I still do appraisals today on diamonds from that period, and many hope they can recover their ,000.00 on a stone that is now worth around ,000.00. And some of them still want to shoot the messenger. (Appraiser)

During this period most of the diamonds were sold with Diamond Grading Reports, or what became known as "Certs". The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) issued most of these. However, other laboratories started to spring up around the world. The top labs issuing grading reports today are GIA, AGS, EGL, and IGI. In my opinion the two that set the world standard today are the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and the American Gem Society (AGS).

When you purchase a diamond in today's market, whether it is from a retail jeweler, or an internet seller, it should have one of these Grading Reports. Buying on the internet has its advantages. Let's take the ,000.00 diamond that we discussed above. This diamond can be found on the internet for around ,000.00. That's quite a savings. All you need to do is find the stone that you want, place your order, and in about 2 to 3 days it will be delivered to your front door. If you don't like it, or it is not what you wanted, most companies have a 30 day return policy.

When buying from a retail jeweler you usually have several choices of stores in your local area which allow you to visit them, and talk to a salesperson face to face. The salesperson should be able to show you several diamonds that meet your criteria and thoroughly explain them to you.

I asked at the beginning if diamonds were a good value in today's market. My answer is "yes" as long as you're buying the stone for all the right reasons. The right reasons will be different things to different people. It might be for you to wear yourself, or give as a gift, or the most special of all... to give to that special person as an engagement ring. Just keep in mind that a diamond is bought as an investment in beauty and not as a financial investment.

Today is Yesterday's Tomorrow

The problem with waiting until tomorrow is that when it finally arrives, it is called today. Today is yesterday's tomorrow. The question is what did we do with its opportunity? All too often we will waste tomorrow as we wasted yesterday, and as we are wasting today. All that could have been accomplished can easily elude us, despite our intentions, until we inevitably discover that the things that might have been have slipped from our embrace a single, unused day at a time.

Each of us must pause frequently to remind ourselves that the clock is ticking. The same clock that began to tick from the moment we drew our first breath will also someday cease.

Time is the great equalizer of all mankind. It has taken away the best and the worst of us without regard for either. Time offers opportunity but demands a sense of urgency.

Today is Yesterday's Tomorrow

When the game of life is finally over, there is no second chance to correct our errors. The clock that is ticking away the moments of our lives does not care about winners and losers. It does not care about who succeeds or who fails. It does not care about excuses, fairness or equality. The only essential issue is how we played the game.

Regardless of a person's current age, there is a sense of urgency that should drive them into action now - this very moment. We should be constantly aware of the value of each and every moment of our lives - moments that seem so insignificant that their loss often goes unnoticed.

We still have all the time we need. We still have lots of chances - lots of opportunities - lots of years to show what we can do. For most of us, there will be a tomorrow, a next week, a next month, and a next year. But unless we develop a sense of urgency, those brief windows of time will be sadly wasted, as were the weeks and months and years before them. There isn't an endless supply!

So as you think of your dreams and goals of your future tomorrow, begin today to take those very important first steps to making them all come to life.

To Your Success,

Jim Rohn

How to Unblock Websites the Easy Way

Have you ever been at work or school getting bored when all of a sudden you get that urge to get onto the computer and check your social networking accounts? You get on the computer in your little cubicle, hoping for your chance to see whats going on in the real world right now. You open up the browser, type in the address of your social networking site, hit enter.. and to your surprise, a screen shows up telling you that the site is blocked. Frantically, you try the others, and all of them are blocked as well. What are you going to do now? Well.. unfortunately, it is becoming easier and easier for network administrators to block websites on their networks. The use of things like IPSEC and the hosts file in windows allow them to block you from browsing freely with a single click of a button. Because sites like twitter, Facebook, Myspace, and YouTube are considered "distractions" to you while you are at work or school, they are the ones to be blocked most often. And unfortunately to you, those are the sites that you like the most.

The good news is, there is a very simple and quick way to bypass network filters and blocks and get your freedom on the web back very easily. The solution is using a web proxy to access the web. A web proxy is a website that has the ability to bypass any filters and blocks that the network administrator may have set up. The best part is, web proxies do not require any type of installation or setup on your computer! This means you can browse the web freely without your network administrator ever even finding out! The only problem you may find with using proxies, is that sometimes, they even get blocked by your admin. What are you going to do now?

Well, there is another very simple solution, a web proxy list! Web proxy lists are websites that generally contain a large list of proxy sites that have been submitted by proxy webmasters all over the world. This is a great resource to use when you are in a situation where your administrator has blocked the proxy websites that you have been using, because you will always have another one available to use! Another great way to get the freshest proxies delivered directly to your email in-box is joining a Proxy Google Group. You will have the latest and freshest proxies to use in your email account each and every time that you log on. You can even follow a proxy robot on twitter to see proxies as they are added to the proxy list. This means you are really getting the freshest and newest proxies to use each and every time.

How to Unblock Websites the Easy Way

So, if you aren't convinced that web proxies are absolutely the best way to unblock websites that have been blocked by your network administrator, i don't know why. They are certainly the quickest and easiest way to browse the web securely, freely, and safely no matter where you are.

I hope you enjoy your new found freedom on the web!

FBI Criminal Background Check - How Can I Get a Background Check on Myself?

How to request an FBI background check on yourself

If you suspect that there might be some incorrect information on your FBI Identification Record or "Rap Sheet" as it is commonly known as, then you will need to make a request to obtain it. You have a right to do a criminal background check on yourself but you will have to jump through a few hoops to get hold of it.

If you are adopting a child or you need to disclose any criminal record to get work then you may need to request your criminal history record. Of course it's more likely that you want to do your FBI criminal background check in order to prove that you don't have a record at all.

FBI Criminal Background Check - How Can I Get a Background Check on Myself?

You can request a copy of your identification record on the FBI web site at the FBI gov web site under "More Services". Here you will find all the instructions that you need to complete the request and get it processed.

There is a fee payable that you must include with your application. At the time of writing the stated fee was which is a nominal fee to cover administrative costs.

The worst part of the application form is the fact that you have to send in a full set of your fingerprints to prove that you are who you say you are. In this instance, a drivers license and a utility bill just won't be enough.

Fingerprints must be taken carefully so that they are clean prints and you must fill in a fresh fingerprint card too. In theory I suppose that you could do all of this yourself but I would suggest that you go down to your local law enforcement office and get an expert fingerprint technician to do it for you. This should avoid any problems with the process.

Can you get an FBI criminal background check on someone else?

No, you can't, not through the FBI site anyway. The application has to be done in person and anyone trying to get one for someone else would need to obtain a full, yes all 10, set of fingerprints. You need to be determined just to get your own rap sheet, it would be near impossible to get one for someone else without their knowledge.

Free criminal background checks

Nothing is ever absolutely free I know and you aren't going to get such a complete and accurate criminal background check on yourself as you will direct from the FBI itself. But it is possible for you to look up criminal and arrest records, arrest warrants and a lot more information by doing your searches in public records, online. You can do it really quickly too.

It can be a very cheap alternative and potentially provide you with a lot of diverse information that you might not get from the FBI. This could be bankruptcies, civil judgements, email addresses, property records and other interesting stuff. In addition you can do criminal background checks on anyone using public records, not just yourself.

iPhone Marketing Strategy

As with all Apple marketing, the iPhone marketing strategy is very clear, simple and clever. With the plain and simple apple icon, Apple focuses on the pure innovative style of their products without all the "fluff". The iPhone was released by Apple in June, 2007. The ground-breaking style of the iPhone was touted for months before the initial release and has remained the best of the best when it comes to cell phones over the past several years. Before the iPhone's official release, Apple ran four television commercials promoting the new cell phone.

The first of the commercials portrays the new iPhone as the next step up from the popular iPod. The iPod was all the rage up until this point, and the iPhone was supposed to be the next-generation iPod, oh, and it's also a phone! The advertisement displays all of the enhanced features available in the iPod, and more, the point being "There's never been an iPod that can do this."

"So, say you're watching Pirates of the Caribbean"
Finger clicks on video and displays wide screen movie.
"Mmm, did somebody say Calamari?"
Finger clicks back to menu, selects Maps application to search 'Seafood'.
"The closest would be..."
Map displays all seafood locations and highlights location nearest to you.
"Ah!"

iPhone Marketing Strategy

Finger clicks seafood location, and restaurant phone number displayed. iPhone dial's.

The first four iPhone commercials flaunted the convenience, innovation, and usefulness of a single product with the functionality of not only a phone, or a music device, but a product that can, among other things, listen to music, watch videos, view photos, make conference calls, check e-mail, browse the web, and view maps.

Not only does Apple utilize television for their marketing strategy, but they make use of their website by posting videos, they also published a handful of press releases that could have been released in one single document. Apple often uses this tactic to build up hype and leave the consumer wanting more.

With Apple's brief press releases, giving the audience little to go off, "Apple leveraged a law of social physics - news, like nature, abhors a vacuum. In the absence of real information, those who care about a product will grasp at any rumor that comes their way. Apple may publicly disavow the rumor Web sites that scramble for scraps about the companies plans, but secretly their marketing department must be delighted. It would cost a lot to buy that kind of Web advertising." (Silverman, 2007)

The official iPhone website does more than just provide information about the product. The website provides top tips and tricks for the use of an iPhone, as well as a huge focus on apps. Almost the entire iPhone page displays images of apps, provides the "App of the Week," the website also contains sections titled "Apps for Everything," and the "Top Apps." Apple's website is a great marketing tool for current iPhone users and consumers that have an interest in purchasing the iPhone. The promotion of the apps will create a stronger source of revenue for Apple. As customers see top rated applications, they are more likely to download the app, rather than searching through 25,000+ apps to find one that may be of any value to the consumer.

Successful younger men were the target audience that Apple had originally focused on. Apple had hoped that with this target audience, and the fact that 48% of this audience did not already own an Apple iPod, would allow them to reach their forecast of 10 million sales by the end of 2008.

One month prior to the release of the iPhone, Solutions Research Group profiled a cross-section of those aware of the phone. The forecast of potential buyers for the day of the release ranked a majority of T-Mobile customers, AT&T's only GSM-based product competitor, at 15%. The second largest group expected to purchase the new iPhone was AT&T's existing customer base, at 12%. The Solutions Research Group also found that 72% of males, versus 28% of women were most likely to investigate the phone at its minimum price of 9. (Malley, 2007)

The obvious current target audiences for the Apple iPhone include young people between the ages of 20 and 35, affluent teenagers, "jet-setters", and "mobile" employees who work outside of the office.

Apple is known for their simplistic, but catchy commercials. In recent television commercials for the Apple iPhone, "There's an App for that" is the new catch phrase that places a strong focus on the apps available from the App Store. Apps, or applications, are in "every category, from games to business, education to entertainment, finance to health and fitness, productivity to social networking. These applications have been designed to take advantage of iPhone features such as Multi-Touch, the accelerometer, wireless, and GPS" (Apple, 2009). Apple currently claims to have 25,000+ apps available, and counting.

The focus on the variation of apps offered opens up the target audience greatly. There is essentially an app for everyone. As a few of the iPhone commercials advertise, you can find the snow conditions on the mountain, track calories in your lunch, find exactly where you parked your car. You can find a cab in a strange city, find your share of the bill for a table of 5, or learn to fix a wobbly bookshelf. You can read a restaurant review, read an MRI, or just read a regular old book. These are just a few of the features that Apple has promoted through television commercials. iPhone apps provide every functionality that one can imagine.

When the iPhone was initially released, it was priced at a hefty 9. Still, hundreds of thousands of people rushed out to get the new phone, forking over a third as much as they would have had they waited an extra 3 months. 3 months after the initial release, Apple reduced the price of the iPhone to 9. This enraged Apple's loyal customers and consumers who purchased the new phone just months earlier. One year later, Apple again reduced the price of the iPhone to 9, 66% less than the original price.

In July, 2007, the Apple iPhone was all the hype. I believe that Apple's decision to release the phone at 9 was slightly based on greed. However, their product was the most innovative out in the market place, giving Apple the freedom to price the iPhone at whatever they wanted. Many believed that Apple had cut the price after discovering lower than expected iPhone sales. Apple, however, states that the price cut was made "to spur holiday sales and predicted that Apple would meet its stated goal of selling its 1 millionth iPhone by the end of September." (Dalrymple, 2007)

As with the product life cycle of any cell phone or Apple product, including Apple's iPod, prices are often reduced drastically months after the initially release. Tech products are always competing against "the latest and greatest" while maintaining a relevant price in the market place. Had Apple not reduced the price of the iPhone, the customer base would have dwindled quickly as many consumers are unwilling to spend 9 on a cell phone, no matter how many useful features the phone may carry.

As the iPhone remains to be the number one smart phone around, the product continues to grow, increasing size capabilities, increasing the number of applications available, and providing new features that are released through new iterations of the phone, continue to provide a greater value to the iPhone while the pricing remains relevant.

At this time in the product life cycle, Apple continues to release enhanced iterations of the iPhone. With most iPhone users un-willing to purchase a newer version of the iPhone because of price, the target audience for the newer generation phones is new iPhone customers. With Apple's installed base continuing to grow, they have found a way bring in reoccurring revenue from their existing customers through the sales of their application downloads. As more and more people purchase the iPhone, Apple's audience for new customers continues to dwindle. Fortunately for Apple, they have built in another source for revenue that continues throughout the life of the product.
